If it helps, I totally wish you were here too. :)

(also, the craziness of these past few days is why I haven't yet read your thesis posts and commented on them, just so you know I'm not ignoring you on purpose)

I wouldn't blame you if you were ignoring me on purpose. I've kinda been Ms. Freaked-Out Obsessive Person (I suffered for my research and now you will too!) lately. But it's Done Now.

I'm very curious about the [spoiler], though. :)

curious as in you want me to tell you, or curious as in you haven't made up your mind? :)

****it was also speculated by an audience member that it's bc teenyboppers haven't found SU yet. the PTB were very tactful in the way they pointed out that, um, fanfic is not just something silly teens do.

I do hate the snobbery about fanfiction - and I wonder if part of that is misogyny, being as I'm sure the majority of fanfiction writers are female. It goes back to that old assumption that if women do it then it can't be any good - but I've read fanfiction that is superior to pro-published stuff.

I wonder if part of the lack of SU fanfiction is the fact that the writers are so closely involved with the fans. It's kind of hard to write fanfic when you know for sure that the writers are likely to read it - it's a bit too close, if that makes any sense. It hasn't stopped me writing a bit, but I would worry more about getting it "wrong" with SU than with other fandoms, if that makes sense?

Good point. And I think that both Bear and you are right in that regard. That the fact that we know the authors so well makes it matter more to us if we mess with canon (on purpose or not).

**and I'm feeling really bad that I can't remember his name seeing as how......um......among other things he taped the whole thing and said he was sending it to the PTB so they could post it.

Squeeee!

well, he said he was taping it and sending it to them for that purpose, I have no idea if they even know it exists yet (although one would assume they saw the camera, and I know they know who he is)
