*testing*
my last post from my aop did not go so well. let's see if this one works out better.
preparations are underway for my dad's party. my sister has the cake lined up and I am supposed to be sketching ideas for centerpeices and taking pics of said sketches and sending them to her. (maybe I'll post them here as well)
speaking of the cake, it will have the solar system on it of course. with poor Pluto tossed aside. which I rather like.
i was a little nervous when sis first brought it up bc most of the Pluto jokes that have been floating around since it was rightfully downgraded annoy the heck out if me. you know, the "omg how could they do that how crazy/wrong!" variety. but my impression of most astronomers reactions to the whole kerfluffle has been more like "thank god that's finally fixed" and what sis is describing sounds more like "haha poor Pluto" than "crazy astronomers!" so that works.
so \o/ now I just need to figure out how display dads crazy crazy ties on a way that 1) looks pretty 2) looks mathy/sciency 3) does not ruin his ties

I should prbably flock this until after the party just in case, but I'm afraid if I mess with the settings now I will lose the post so I will just count on the fact that no one I know offline reads my lj :)
