Horrible..
With the TV going in the background, I couldn´t believe when I heard that a plane had crashed right there at Barajas Airport in Madrid.. let alone, when I heard the impact of the crash--153 dead (of 174). Right there. I took that same flight just last year..
Shocked. Sad. I can´t stop thinking about it really. Seeing videos of the smoke, the hundreds of ambulances and EMT workers, charred bodies covered on the ground, seeing that 153 have been pronounced dead (among a plane of 20 children, 2 babies and many ´young people´)... I hope that no one I know, or that no one of anyone I know was headed from Madrid to the Gran Canaria today. Not that that makes it much better. It´s still a terrible tragedy.
It really drives home something that I say.. nothing in life is ever guaranteed- a good job, marriage, love, life itself.. I couldn´t imagine going to the airport, ready to take a nice holiday trip, boarding the plane, going down the runway, and... or being the relatives waiting to receive the passengers at the destination that the plane will never arrive to... my thoughts and prayers are in Madrid..
