I count my blessings that my head is still attached to my neck. After taking a helluva tumble down the stairs yesterday, I'm bruised up like crazy, with an almost perfectly circular large metal bolt-sized cut-out on the bottom of my big toe that looks (and feels) grosser than can be told. Again, I thank God I'm not a quadriplegic after that incident and will try to keep reminding myself this as I hobble along at work with a slipper on that foot. What else does this teach me?
Number one: Respect the stairs. They will treat you well as long as you treat them well and do not ignore their existence.
Number two: Get rid of the open-toed slippers that live up to their name.
