Friendster, incredibly slow and frustrating, will slowly take over my boring life. Actually, probably not. I don't have the patience to find friends online. I have to make friends by being inappropriately loud and obnoxious at local restaurants and campus events.
I have to set up the fall break desk schedule this afternoon, 5 o'clock. I will only be able to work the desk Saturday night and Sunday. I need to do so, so that I might be able to pay off my workstudy earlier than expected. I will hopefully find someone to cover my shift on Monday so I can go to the dinner with Kerry Kennedy giving a speech in Oklahoma City.
Last night I went to the
Starlight Mints concert at the Venue. It was fun. No one was nearly as frightening as the man from the
Nickel Creek show. I was determined (a slight bit of claustrophobia mayhaps?) that he was going step back onto my foot, shoving his shoulder into my ickle nose. Last night we did get to witness a loud, drunken presumably former-frat boy telling the Mints to play Freebird. He was amazingly similar to Thursday night's screaming Sigma Chi, who was absolutely determined for
the Hero Factor(normanites, go see them at Brother's on December 10) to play "All Along the Watchtower". We also witnessed one drunken, blackly-clad fellow who loved to use the rock hand gesture in sync with the music; maybe he was a metallica convert. We can't forget the guy who clearly wanted the lead singer to make sweet, sweet love to him in a prison cell. He was quite focused on him, mouthing the words, smiling like an idiot.
But, I haven't said anything of the music. I wish that I had kept up with cello. Cello is actually pretty fucking awesome, what was I thinking. He played it with a bass bow; I'm not perfectly sure how that changed the sound, making it thicker maybe? Meghan was sure to point out the snapped hairs, dangling along, looking "cool". Her sister, Emily, became the second favorite person to watch during the song. Those who knew her or Meghan turned to watch her expression and reaction. Yet again, I'm talking about people and not music. Which is probably the best for you, readers. I am a musical idiot, mostly. Maybe I should talk about something else.
The other band, Laguardia, was pretty thrilling. This is what Josh Oustander, the lead, says about his music: "I can
