Hockey, Valentines Day, and Who-niverse
So apparently Atlantic Hockey is made of fail, and their press release didn't really spell out all that was going on. Ricky Walton and Hudson are now both suspended for the remainder of the regular season. This equates to 7 games for Hudson, and 5 games for Walton. I do think Walton deserves extra suspensions for hitting Weeks, but it really sucks he's going to miss out on his senior night[Hudson is a sophomore]. Maybe I'm biased, but I don't think what Walton did is on the same scale as Hudson[I just found out he broke Favot's nose >:O], so I think he should have gotten a finite number of games. RIT has put in an appeal to the decision[though whether that's for Walton or one of the other players, we don't know], so we'll see what happens. I just hope this doesn't end up looking bad on RIT. Our hockey program has come a long way in the past couple years and is really building a name for itself, and I'd hate to see this affect us negatively in the long run.
My Valentine's Day wasn't too bad. I was planning on going to the special Gracie's V-day dinner, but Steph F ended up dragging Karl along. Karl is the most obnoxious kid on the planet- aka I would rather jump off a cliff than spend another moment with him. Hatred isn't a strong enough word for the feelings I have towards this kid. So I had to abandon that[sorry Stef and Jess :(] and I ended up going to Friendly's with Kyle, Elisa and Ev. It was quite amusing, especially when we started playing "Shag, Marry, or Push off a Cliff" XD
I finally got to squee with abarero over Who and Torchwood! It was totally worth the lack of sleep I got last night. They are so close to stopwatch *__* I cannot wait for her and haro to be caught up with both Doctor Who and Torchwood, then there will be truly epic discussion.
On the topic of Torchwood, I spent some time earlier in the night re-watching bits and pieces of Adam. Spoilery, of course.
2x05: Adam
On the re-watch, I wasn't as disappointed with it as I was the first time. I find this happens to me a lot, maybe I should just make a point of watching everything twice? XD Also, someone over at the TV Without Pity forums made a comment that made me feel a lot better about Gwen's line. She wasn't actually telling Jack that she doesn't love Rhys like she loves Jack- she was saying that she knows that's how Rhys thinks she feels[I'm not quite sure the way I wrote that makes sense, but it's too early for me to sort it out]. Then of course I had to re-watch the meditation-y silliness of them trying to forget Adam. My heart absolutely melts at the exchange where Jack kisses Ianto's forehead. <3
ALSO: it should be noted this video is made of win. It has spoilers up to 2x04 of Torchwood, so I don't suggest people watch it until they get up to then. But basically it's shots of Ianto to West Side Story's "I feel Pretty." Yes Ianto, you are very, very pretty.
PS: It's Christopher Eccleston's birthday tomorrow, I think we should throw a party ;)
