Okay... so as you all know, I went away to Nova Scotia this past weekend to visit my best friend Christa, as well as my wonderful friends Jay and Najja. I took 100s of pictures - but I'm only going to post a few of my favourites here for Michelle because I know she has super slow internet down in Cambodia, but I still want her to be able to see what I was up to :)
My weekend:
Thursday - Got into Halifax airport and searched the terminal until I found Rachna and we had an airport reunion. Then I went outside just in time to see Jay and his roommate pull up to pick me up. We stopped off for some dinner on the way back to their place and then we spent the night at their home in Greenwood (Air Force Base) playing guitar hero and cuddling for warmth LoL
Friday Morning - Got up at 6 am and hopped on a 2 hour bus ride to Wolfville (where Christa was). The bus ride was... cute. Everyone knew everyone elses names, even the bus driver. And they were all talking to me and were super nice. The houses out there are all BEAUTIFUL - big colonial houses with bright colours and wrap-around balconies.. it's gorgeous!
Friday Day - Finally made it to Wolfville, climbed up the giant and steep hill with my suitcase to Christa's house. I got there just in time to get some breakfast and then go to watch Christa's performance class with Rachna. Christa sounded BEAUTIFUL of course! Then Rachna and I slept the rest of the day on the couch and watched hilarious shows (aka Keys to the VIP). When Christa got back from class, we headed in to the bigger town - New Minas - with Jess and Becca where we went to a pet store, bought pizza for that night, and had a hilarious time Dollar Store shopping for Cheryl's (One of Christa's roommates) surprise party that night.
Friday Night - Went over to Becca's for Cheryl's themed party. Theme = "Cheryl turns 7." We listened to old school music and played some hilariously fun games... Murder wink, hot potato, musical chairs, and pin the tail (mullet) on the donkey (Rod). We also strung mini sugar doughnuts from a string and did a warped version of bobbing for apples LoL Then we all headed out to the Acadian bar (The Axe) to meet a bunch of new people and nearly die of laughter with all the fun we were having. It was stopnight light, so people were supposed to wear green if they were available and looking, yellow if they could be convinced, and red if they were taken. We spent the night making up hilarious pickup lines and yelling at random people who actually wore the colours to try and embarass them. I also met up with Najja at the bar and we got all caught up :)
Saturday Day - After a delicious pancake breakfast, we went out for a walk around Wolfville. We saw the supposed "Bay of Fundy," but the tide was so far out that you couldn't even see the water! LoL We also did some souvenir shopping and took tons of cute pictures in town. Then we cuddled up on Christa's couch to try and warm up (we couldn't feel ANYTHING because we were so cold).
Saturday Night - The girls and I headed down for dinner at this delicious place called Paddy's... the food was sooo good. Then we came back home to get ready for the night. We first went to Joel's Mexican themed party and then we headed to the Axe for $1 drinks... I had a lot. Then at about 11, when I was sufficiently tipsy and bummed about the Rock losing; we switched to the town bar called the Vil where we danced the night away (we went NUTS for Home for a Rest) and had fun adventures in the cold on the way home.
Sunday - Woke up, had breakfast, and headed into Halifax and then onto the airport. Got randomly selected to be searched at the airport (aka patted down), took some awesome pictures from the plane, and then got home and cuddled with the parents and the puppies!
And that was my weekend! So... here are some of my favourite pictures:
