so after 2 weeks trying to catch this s.o.a.g. I CAUGHT IT!!!!! YEAPPY! HORRAY!!
and to top it off it was SOOOO CUTE!!!! HUGEMUNGOUS black eyes, long thin tail, white belly, and the most adorable golden tan fur on its back (yes I like gerbils and some hamsters).
I finally put both of the death traps infront of the live catch trap. Poor thing, it was trying to drag one of the traps around the stove top to get away from me, because it had only caught a foot in the trap. Would you believe it had already gotten the peanut butter on saline out of the live bait trap when it set the death trap off? I carfully put a towel over it, released its foot, put it in a box, and dropped it off in Genessee Valley Park. At least I think I did? I didn't see it go bounding out of the box, but it wasn't in the box. I had sealed all exits (put plastic bag of diapers on top of the empty diaper box), and with Genessee being so dark at night, I think I succeeded. I hope its not in my car..... (scampers out to reopen doors to quadruple check)
