People of Glasgow: BEWARE!

Apr 24, 2010 20:37

The following is speculation on recent events in Glasgow and how the Doctor may be involved. If you are from Glasgow (or know it well), expect mysteries to be solved. If you are not then I warn you, NOTHING BUT CONFUSION awaits you behind this cut!

Having just watched the latest episode of Doctor Who, it reminded me that I have some worrying news regarding a "statue" which appears to be mysteriously missing from its normal location by the Clyde*. It would seem that the city, by keeping a 100% genuine weeping angel in the Kelvingrove for about a year, has given this formerly dormant angel the chance to awaken.

I'm going to go even further with my increasingly mental speculation entirely valid theorising and suggest that any attempts to locate the weeping angel begin here. The fact is that that head of the council, Steven "chemical dependency" Purcell, is nowhere to be found, and no satisfactory explanation has been given for his whereabouts. I have to conclude the correct answer is the past. It would appear that the angel has been influenced by her status as a memorial to the Spanish Civil war, given that she has taken it upon herself not to attack the ordinary citizens but instead attack the powerful and the corrupt. This is the silver lining. We shouldn't let our guard down, and should be thinking about ways to stop it, but to my mind these measures only need to be taken if it starts going after the innocent.

Further investigations might also be needed in the area of the George V bridge as mysterious lamentful singing has been heard coming from this area for the past few weeks. This may be unrelated, but with it being so near to the statue's normal home it's a clue that's worth looking into.

The Doctor may not be able to help, I assume something bad has happened to him given that his TARDIS has been captured by forces unknown who have converted it into a coffee kiosk. Personally, I think we should call in UNIT as soon as possible.

*P.S. yes, it is indeed the same statue I dressed up as for halloween
