warhol shoes
shoes were a subject of compelling interest to warhol throughout his career. one of his first commissions after moving to new york was a series of drawings, including shoes, that appeared in the september 1949 issue of glamour magazine. warhol soon became one of the most well-known illustrators of women`s footwear in new york. shoes also appear frequently in warhol`s noncommercial work from the 1950s.
