Fantastic Four
We went to see this for Alex's birthday on Monday. Its kind of a basic superhero plot - they get exposed to scary radioactive rays and then change into (insert music here) SUPERHEROES!
I liked it a lot better than some superhero movies I've seen (coughthehulkcough) and I LOVED the guy who played The Thing. I want to see him in more movies - so hopefully this will open up things for him. And of course they left it open for a sequel at the end. Jessica Alba - I thought she was going to annoy me but thankfully she didn't. Whatever happened to that big expensive TV show that they had with her in it - directed by the Titantic guy. I never saw it but I remember it was supposed to be some incredible show.
From what I'm reading on the imdb it was a three picture deal - so I'm guessing that means there will be more. I don't think a sequel is going to be AS interesting - the main thing I liked about the movie was them trying to come to terms with their "superhero"-ness - either trying to hide from it, or being ashamed of it - or showing it off to try to get laid. Once they're a big deal crime fighting group I think its going to lose that.
