Books, Day 5 and a Harry Potter Interlude

Day 05 - A book you hate

I didn't even have to THINK about this one. Hands down, the most horrid, awful, atrocious, horrendous book of ALL TIME is 'Lord of the Flies' by William Golding. We were forced to read it in 8th grade and it was the worst experience ever. I like to read, I like to read many types of books, there may be some books that can't hold my interest, but there's only a handful of books that I've read that I just couldn't stand. This is one of them. The other two that I can't stand are 'Winesburg, Ohio' by Sherwood Anderson and 'Beowulf', but that's for another day. lol. 'Lord of the Flies' is a horribly written novel about a group of boys who are stranded on a deserted island via plane crash during a war (one of the World Wars, I think). They set up a power structure, it is ultimately undone and the boys turn into these savage, wild children and they wind up killing one of their group, and at the end they are found by some sort of military person. There are absolutely no redeeming qualities about this book.

Harry Potter!!!

I didn't know until recently that they were going to do the epilogue in the movie. Over the last 2 (3?) movies they've cut out SO MUCH that I'd consider relevant....and THIS they're going to include?! Are you serious?! Can't they just end the movie with Harry killing Voldemort, do they REALLY need to include that really stupid epilogue?
So....that being said....I was impressed that Harry and Ginny's kids looked pretty much exactly how I'd picture their kids looking. And they're adorable! I think Harry and Ginny (ok, Harry, Ginny and Hermione) are the only ones who were 'aged' well....case in point, Malfoy and Ron (below):

*giggle*
