Bleach 267 Screencap

Apr 24, 2010 00:21

Since Bleach anime is back to canon, so I'm going to recap some moments in the anime starting from ep 267 in compare with the manga. Because I have time while a bunch of sadist project papers nearby didn't appeal me any bit. I need inspiration, so I'm going to review my head now.

I've watched the both RAW version and the SUB version from Dattebayo. I guess it said enough for how much I have been looking forward Bleach anime returns to canon.

While I'm still a little nervous for how they're going to screw up the canon, I just hope they didn't make the OP just for show. Yeah, I'm always pessimistic when it comes to anime giving its past record for screwing things up, especially when it comes to the ever subtle UlquiHime-ness.

There's one thing for me to say about Dattebayo 's translation in the sub, it's sometimes wrong on some occasions. But at least, the most important lines are still the same. But I'm picky when I heard one meaning in Japanese and read another different meaning in English. At least, I'm glad that they kept the part where Ulquiorra called Orihime "onna" as "woman". I remembered from an old days, they still called her as "girl" and translated "kokoro" as "soul" instead of "heart" XO

Overall about the animation quality, I think it's above average, but it's not the best. It's better than the fillers, but it's neither better than the previous canon eps namely the Findor vs. Hisagi fight. Well, saving best things for the last, I guess. Some parts of fighting were too fast and I couldn't catch up while others were too slow when it didn't need to. Also reused frames and static dull expressions. Also the flow of the Ichi vs. Ulqui fight had been interrupted many times by the Chad / Renji moments, so I was just like a balloon, being stuffed air and being deflated it over and over again. It's not good for the nerve if they were doing it more than TWICE. I know it's for releasing the tension, but doing it too much just make me lost all of the tension that the IchiUlqui fight should built up on me. Then again, I admit that I like everything in relation of IchiUlqui fighting choreography. Because it was wonderfully well done.

Screencaps will come in handle though I'm not sure I could put all of them... I was intent to follow every panel in manga and screencap the particular similar scenes in anime, but I realized that there would be too much. So I probably just put some epic moments that I'd like to remember. So BEWARE for loads of images.

This ep consists the recap from the previous basically from the beginning of chapter 318 and from the end of chapter 339. The canon of this ep includes 2 chapters 340 and 341, also a little bit from chapter 342 (The Yammy & Puppy) in manga.

This is the first time I realize the distance between Ulquiorra and Orihime for how CLOSE they are (giving the previous ep where Ulqui initially came closer to Hime just to touch her boobs) and the distance between UlquiHime and Ichigo for how FAR they are.

I notice that Orihime's mouth moving in this scene, yet there's no sound (Kurosaki-kun) is made (LOL) It totally goes all silent until Ulqui draws his sword. There's also another thing I notice: the mysterious hole that Ichigo hop up in the floor just miraculously disappears in one scene and the reappears in the next scene with different angle.

I still feel very perplexed about Ulquiorra missing his black nail polish in anime. I just cannot concentrate my mind everytime his fingers coming close up on the screen. LOL the scene where Ichigo tells Ulquiorra "Get away from Orihime" had been cut. So is the scene where Ulquiorra rants Ichigo about protecting LN and Aizen and that he would let Orihime live until the order comes. It's totally them having eyesmex toward each other, man.

This is the only Kurosaki-kun in this ep. Hopefully it would stay that way until Lust Arc comes.

That's all about the recap. Now let's go to the new canon scenes.

This is what I said about they are in a totally different background where Ulqui is inside and Ichigo is outside while in the manga it's reverse.

Eyesmexing again. Ulquiorra with unwavering eyes and Ichigo with trembling eyes

This is one kind of wrong translation from DB from "That's dangerous, man!" into "Are you nuts?" But epic hollow leg is epic hollow leg.

Really, this Rukia panel made me smile because they had animated her very beautiful and in detail (down to her sweat drop)

In the manga, Ichigo and Ulquiorra are very close when fighting together, while in anime, they at least kept a fixed distance. I don't know why but I have that kind of feeling.  Why did my epic double page spread in manga turn to into this?

I'm glad that the anime intent to keep all of Ulquiorra and Ichigo combo attacks without adding anything. We could see how stylish and calm and silent Ulquiorra is when he's fighting in contrast with Ichigo being passionate and rash and all mouthful with "OOOO" and "GAAAA"

For example, Ulquiorra kicks and Ichigo dodges.

Ichigo slashes and Ulquiorra dodges with his back-flip jump.

Ulquiorra attacks from above and Ichigo goes Getsuga Tenshou

Ulquiorra deflects Getsuga and the panel of Ichigo shock came later after Ulquiorra disappeared in the air instead of seeing his attack was easily cut in manga. Ulquiorra distracts Ichigo by quickly sonido from above to behind him in a flash and processes on stabbing him.

Ichigo swings his sword on time. Here comes the eyesmex.

This is one of my favorite scenes in Ichi vs. Ulqui fight.

The way Ulquiorra "tap dance" pushing Ichigo back while keep swinging sword toward him is very fun to see. Although the frames are reused, the movement is well done. It moves so swiftly and cleverly by switching back to the next one. This is the scene that I would never be able to image in action when I'm reading the manga.

Ulquiorra stops his track and goes by stabbing on Ichigo's shoulder.

Then go along with Cero. I wanna cry instead of LOL when the anime forgot his horn in that scene. I couldn't take it seriously when I look at his face. Even Ichigo also shocks at the scene like me.

Vulnerable Ichigo panting is so smexy :)

Ulquiorra analyzes Ichigo's reason for being stronger.

Ulquiorra couldn't help but exclude Orihime out of the nakama and include her as another reason individually.

Ichigo with no comment. You're a bit wrong, Ulquiorra. Ichigo comes to fight you because he wants to get laid. It's a shame that you missed how Ichigo did it with Grimmjow.

I really love the touch in the anime where they show Orihime frames with Ulquiorra's coattail floating around (just like in the manga). At first, her images started from blur to clear when Ulquiorra mentions her.

Ulquiorra: "That woman is one of us now. Saving her is meaningless."
Translation: "That woman is mine now. Get your ass away from her. Saving her is meaningless. She stays with me."

Ulquiorra uses his same old Aizen-sama's excuse. Not work this time, Ulquiorra. Ichigo doesn't get it. The readers ain't buying it. You'd better to admit yourself sooner.

Ulquiorra attacks. Ichigo barely dodges. Orihime worries.

She's squishing her body, holding up her boobs. There's a wrong part on her sleeve design though.

Ichigo attacks. Ulquiorra easily blocks.

Ulquiorra attacks. Ichigo barely dodges. Orihime worries. The formula continues.

Ichigo attacks. Ulquiorra dodges and takes a chance to counterattack with his fencing move.

Ichigo dodges it well, but unfortunate for him, there's more to come, and I'm cursing myself not get any decent screencap of Ulquiorra with his multiple stabbing sword for this scene. This scene came as second for my favorite Ulquiorra's fighting scenes. And is it just me but Ulqui looks so smug in that picture?

Ichigo finally uses his head to analyze Ulquiorra's battling style. See how much he focuses on Ulqui and his sword poking and coming around his face.

And then THIS happens and everybody FANGRASM over the screen.

*HAND GRASP*

Ulquiorra: Ugh •A•
Ichigo: Uhm *∀*
Me: Unf >∀<

That scene is totally frucking sex galore. Even the background around them suddenly turns white when they finally came contact and connect with each other for the first time ever XD It even repeats TWICE. Now, that speaks something that the anime wants to emphasize. Ichigo is totally into Ulqui, man. Talking about understand Ulqui better than before. Congrat, we have IchiUlqui canon.

Ichigo takes his chance. His "UWOOOOO" startles me though. Ulquiorra gets slashed.

Ulquiorra takes a step back and revealed his awesome smexy chest to the viewers. Thank you, Ichigo! Oh how much I adore his aloof face like this :\ even when he is taken in surprise.

You already cannot resist him when he looks at you in his intact fulled clothes. How would you be able to resist him when he looks at you while revealing his smexy chest? Especially when the anime decides to give it a close-up on his abs o∀O

I know it's strange when I feels happy to see Ulquiorra get hurt. But the scene where he touches his wound is so AWW *A* and swipes away all of my impure thoughts. I also noticed there's a soft thud sound when he places his hand on his chest. (Is it an effect of Hierro?) At any degree, I'm sure Ulquiorra would be all surprise that he could get hurt by Ichigo.

UWAA This scene is so cute. Ulqui looks like he's a bit lost in thought here 'cause he keeps staring at his hand with a sulky face.

Ulquiorra couldn't comprehend when he hears that Ichigo is into him and understand him more than before.

This comparison from Ichigo seems odd to me as I remember it's not exactly the same in manga.

"I felt like I was a statue fighting a machine" Statue vs. Machine !? Aren't they almost the same comparison for Ulquiorra who Ichigo couldn't read because he's like a statue or a machine!? Probably just a wrong translation from DB.

This is also a different translation from the manga, though the meaning is not much different, but it could understand both ways if we followed DB. Instead of Ichigo telling Ulquiorra becoming more like "human", it turns out into Ichigo telling Ulquiorra becoming more like "Ichigo" +__+ Well, in case that Ichigo is also human, so it can be implied another way, but I took the meaning literally first. I guess that's why Ulquiorra looks more shocked and pissed off than he is in the manga. Comparing him to human had been already bad enough, now it's like comparing him become more like "Ichigo" is even worse. The part where Ulquiorra stabs the floor with his sword out of sudden startles me. I've already expected it'd coming, however in a slow motion, not like this.

You're really hitting a bad switch, Ichigo! But hell yeah, the reason why I mention the odd translation from DB because Orihime appears in that cameo of Ulquiorra's anger. Because it doesn't make sense if Ichigo tells Ulquiorra become more like "Ichigo" and Orihime was included in the change. Sound like somebody being jealous when being compared that he looks like her ex-boyfriend XD

Oh pouty face, Ulquiorra <3 Who is this bishie? He becomes more hawt in every second gone by. Besides the hilarious missing horn scene, I snap no shot of Ulquiorra with bad quality animation. Good job, anime! Also the scene where he's angry for becoming human repeat TWICE, just like the scene where Ichigo grabs Ulqui's arm. Of course, Orihime also appeared TWICE. The message the anime wants to emphasize and convey: we have two ships, people: IchiUlqui and UlquiHime. Please tune on our channel and see how their ship war will become.

There's nothing better than seeing Ulquiorra being angry and serious. Your poker face had been fallen apart, Emopasda :D

This scene disappoints me a little bit because in manga, it was dramatic and fast when Ulquiorra swings the sword down. But in the anime, it seems dull to me because it's static and unmoving here. Though the shock in Ichigo's eyeball makes up a little.

Ulquiorra ambushes from behind. Ichigo reacts and slashes and misses.

Ulquiorra ambushes from the side.

My friend who watched the scene together with me comments that this ep used too much eyeballs for eyesmexing XD I agree.

KENG! The attack is blocked by a golden shield.

I'm amused that the anime chose this angle with Ichigo's back, but not at the front with Ichigo's face like in the manga. This shows that Ichigo cannot react to Ulquiorra's super speed and he's not fast enough to turn his head around. (Yet, Orihime can be able to follow Ulquiorra's movement and predict where he would strike to put up the shield fast enough :D Oh you rock, girl. Look at Ulquiorra's eye of surprise. Here comes the princess.

This ep ends with both Ulquiorra and Orihime looking and eyesmexing toward each other just like the end of chapter 341 while Ichigo had fallen into the background behind the screen XD

NEXT EP Preview:

Ulquiorra: What are you doing, woman?
Orihime: Stop... raeping Kurosaki-kun, you cheater!
Ulquiorra: I'm not cheating. Can't you see that I'm on the way of killing him? I'm asking you why you helped him.
Orihime: Why...? That's because...
Ulquiorra: Because I'm about to top him? In that case, why didn't you protect him from the first attack? What made you hesitate?
Orihime: That's not...
Ulquiorra: You don't know!? I'll enlighten you, you're.... indeed a yaoi fangirl. You just enjoy seeing us stripping each other's clothes right?
Orihime: I...
Ulquiorra: Next time, I won't release in front of you anymore. So you're better get yourself ripped and come up there to see me.
Orihime: !!
Ichigo: Shut up and get a room already!
