SO here is the deal. Being that this is prime kitten season alot of the shelters are full -- seeing as my options are severely limited because of only being able to send them to no-kill shelters...it is even further restricted.
I called a place in Blue Bell called Kitty Cottage and they have a pretty decent deal. Basically, they will take the kittens (that i cannot find homes for) -- 1st I have to bring them in at 5-6weeks of age (which gives me another week or so to find homes for them) to have them dewormed and given distemper shots (which the shelter covers expensewise) then i need to take them home for @20 days and then bring them back for adoption. The shelter will spay/neuter them and give them shots before adopting. I think they charge $150 per adoption (which is what anyone would end up spending on vet fees for a free kitty)
It gets trickier with the adult cats I need to have them spayed/neutered, given shots and tested for feline leukemia first (she is sending me an application for discounts) They also need to be socialized. they need to be able to be picked up, petted and so on or they will not take them.
this is like having a second fulltime job.
