Human history has arisen through wars and bloodshed. Has there ever really been a period of time over the past two thousand years when the world has been free of conflict or war? Sure there are uneventful times, but every generation has seen some type of war or major conflict. Look at the 20th Century - it was like war after war after war. Think about it, in our lifetimes, how many of these war/conflicts have we seen?
I was born when the Vietnam war was over. The Cold War was still in effect for the first 13-14 years of my life. There have been innumerable conflicts in various parts of the Middle East and Israel. There was the whole Libya/Khadoffhi thing. Uprisings have occurred throughout Africa. There was the Gulf War. The Balkan Wars. The fall of the Soviet Union. The war against terrorism and so on and so forth. I do not fully endorse the impending war with Iraq or any conflict with North Korea in any way. war is one of those things like shit it happens. Until humankind changes war will always exist. It is a part of human nature. It is sad that so many lives have been lost through wars. Our leaders seem to want this war - what can we do to stop it? probably nothing. I can't wait until this talking monkey gets voted out of office and I swear if he is elected for another 4 years -- just call me an expatriate -- i'm emigrating.
