I ran into Julian on the train yesterday. I figured this would happen eventually as we live in the same city in nearby neighborhoods (only about 2 blocks apart as it turns out) and presumably use the same public transportation. We must have been sitting across from each other for about 3 stops before he noticed and got my attention. Apparently I am more oblivious while riding the train than I had originally thought.

He looks (and acts) grown up. It's strange to talk to someone that you haven't had a real conversation with since they were 16 years old. I guess the 5 years between 16 and 21 offer a lot of growth. For the first time, it wasn't awkward or fake. It was just nice to see him and hear that he's doing well and I got the impression he felt the same way. I'm happy with that. It would be cool if we could interact every once in awhile and have it lack awkwardness.

The nice weather was awesome while it lasted. It got me out to the bar on two consecutive weeknights. I don't think that has happened in...ever. Tuesday night at Sheffields, Brian brought a friend from his old job who also brought a friend. When Brian's friend's friend arrived he tried to chest bump Brian's friend, but Brian's friend didn't see and the chest bump set-up went unnoticed by everyone but me. It ruled.

Brian's friend also told Brian later that he thought Jimmy was gay. Interesting considering I was all but sitting on his lap all night and gave him a kiss goodbye. Also interesting considering Jimmy drank shitty beer all night and this guy's self proclaimed "drink" was Goldschlager on the rocks. Gross.
