A link to some poetry Barack Obama wrote when he was a student at Oxy.
Honestly, the level to which people are digging to find dirt on Obama and the others is insane. Who CARES what they did when they were 19? Poetry? Really? Instead of--maybe, just maybe--an analysis of Obama's political viewpoint on, oh lets say, terrorism, drugs, abortion, cancer, global warming, Iran, Iraq, Korea, China, Darfur, AIDS, immigration, racism, Neo-Nazis, gun control, New Orleans, vanishing rainforests, contaminated pet food (ok maybe not that last either), stem cells, Medicare, National Debt, rising number of autism cases, obesity in all forms, widespread corporate corruption, Hilary-fucking-Clinton, campaign reform, literacy, education, privacy laws, Gitmo, Social Security, Homeland Security, and the so called "Axis of Evil" that has lately become the "Vaguely organized hootenanny of disheveled men with grubby beards and semi threatening box cutters." I'm just saying. We could be talking about all that instead of some dysfunctional iambic pentameter.
And yet what am I doing? Spreading the linkage like a jerkface. I blame boredom, an internet connection, and the fact that I am a American, so naturally I'm a hypocrite.
(And omg Obama wrote about his grandfather in Oxy's literary magazine in '82 when he was a frosh and I wrote about my grandmother in the lit mag in 02-03 when I was a frosh! coincidence?! Of course!! OMG I COULD BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT!111!!!)
