Lately, I've been giving more appreciation to the beauty of reggae, and more importantly, the Marley family. There comes a time in your life when a particular person/artist/poet/inspiration influences you so much, that their perspective on life whisks you away. There's an extremely strong feeling of hope that comes over me as I listen to their lyrics and let their sound envelope me. It's a love of their music, a love that makes me feel as if everything really is going to be alright.
It affects me just as much as the Beatles, just as much as John Lennon, Feist, Esthero, Regina Spektor, etc. One spectacular thing I've noticed is my ability to focus on my studies as reggae is playing in the background. It's given me the ability to listen to more things at once, and causes brain activity in simultaneously lobes and areas.
Oh baby, this is love. You move me, you groove me, and bring a smile to my face. This love, is better than any tangible person can provide. Let's smoke a bowl together and celebrate the joys and pains of life; we'll let the music hit us in every way imaginable. Let us be.
