Today was the Warped Tour. First of all, it was really neat, just for the fact that is was on a PIER, rather than a field of grass and dirt. But anyway, I had let my lazy ass sleep in, so I got there late... REAL late. Like 3 hours late. Which, I wasn't really worried about, because there weren't really that many bands that I REALLY REALLY wanted to see. You know, just a couple... like MXPX (freaking awesome) and The Offspring (also awesome, and I have never seen them before) and I figured since they were kinda bigger acts and on the main stage they would be player later in the evening.
BUT NOOOOO. MXPX played at like 1:50, so I missed them by like 5 minutes. ARRRRGH! And The Offspring had played at like 11 something, way earlier than I had gotten there. So the two bands that I had really wanted to see had played already.
Instead of just leaving, which I was thinking of doing, I walked around for a little while and found out that they had a little batting cage set up. I was like, NEATO, I like hitting balls. (HAHA) So I gave it a try and sucked because they were going fast, and I have only ever played slow pitch softball. Then the guys from MXPX came over there, and got to play too... and they signed autographs for people. Holy crap... Mike was really good. Tom whiffed a lot, which made me feel better that I was not the only one who sucked, and Yuri didn't really get much of a chance.
Then I watched some of the other bands and such, and walked around a few more times. The show seemed to end really early, at like 7pm... usually they go until like 9 or something... which was part of the reason I went so late. I figured it would be easier to stay for those later acts if I wasn't there the entire time. There were quite a few bands that I had heard of, but didn't have a huge interest in, which was kinda cool. They were all good.
So then, during the last band's set, I wandered around again for a little while. As I am walking, I notice this guy... and he looks familiar. This confuses me because he looks like a guy from Yellowcard... who are not on the Warped tour this year. But then I notice that he is holding a Yellowcard CD in his hand, confirming my suspicion that he is in Yellowcard. So I talked to him for a little while and he is so nice, I freaking love him now. Not that I didn't like him before, but he was just really cool and nice. It made my day better, especially after missing MXPX and The Offspring.
