My almost but not quite dead journal of despair (or normalcy)
Today is the ten year anniversary of me moving to Minnesota to live with my exhusband. I drove home (MINNESOTA) from my parents' today, arriving just a couple hours earlier than I did ten years ago. Living here is quite possibly the only thing I've ever done for ten years and not wanted to change. There was the brief flirtation with moving to New Orleans, and the other flirtation with becoming shepherds on an empty island in the British Isles.... Otherwise, moving here is still one of the best choices I've ever made.
Before I left mom's I was kind of bugging everyone to get going about lunch, because I wanted to get home to meet a friend for coffee. I said to my mom "if you had told me three years ago that I would have a social life this rich and busy, I would never have believed you." Her response? "If I had told you that ten years ago, you would have believed me." She's right.
I'm happy here.
