While rummaging through my drawer, I serendipitously reunited a pair of earrings that I thought I had "lost" back in sophomore year of college. It was one of my favorite pairs of earrings back then, and I remember being heartbroken over misplacing yet another counterpart. (I have many "favorite" singles dangling around.) Surprised and elated, I abruptly took off the pair I was currently wearing and tried the earrings on for the first time in about four years.

The result was...OK. They were definitely not as good looking as the earrings I had on just before, yet, they weren't bad either. Maybe it was because of my outfit or the way I had my hair, but the earrings no longer fit. They weren't my favorite anymore. (And I'm currently wearing my favorite pair...So let's hope I don't loose these.)

I realized what an interesting and frank statement this little episode made. I guess it's true even with the simplest and trivial matters we encounter...Life goes on.
