So I took my train-wreck* kitty, Marley, in to work today for a checkup - he's been acting a little off the past couple weeks. I thought maybe he fell and bruised himself or was developing arthritis or some such innocuous thing. No, no. Marley could never have something innocuous.
He has 7 bladder stones and needs surgery.
*cringe*
Yet one more reason that the kitten with the sad story is not the kitten you want to adopt.
It's a good thing he's mommy's favorite!
*train wreck =
1. chronic allergies (= expensive special diet, long term steroid and immunosuppresive medications),
2. bilateral congenital cataracts (he's had cataracts in both eyes since he was a kitten - one obscures 80% of his vision, the other, only 20%)
3. latent feline herpes virus (= must be very very careful with steroid and immunosuppressant use or he will get a raging eye/respiratory infection),
4. chronic dental disease (= dental cleaning with extractions annually),
5. systemic vaccine anaphylaxis (wen he gets vaccines, if not treated right, his face swells up, he turns purple and collapses)
