My Halloween costume is almost complete! Now all I need is the little flag and to memorize 'the dance,' and then I can successfully frighten everyone. I've tried to persuade Moira into being 'Big Edie', but she'd never dare wear a tube top, let alone a shirt tied as a tube top.
My puppy Groucho will be 'Pug-ula,' all that's left to do is to sew him a little black felt cape to go with his gothic medallion. He's already got the biting part down (teething like mad!) I promise to post photos after Hallow's Eve : )
And if anyone hears of anything classically spooky and wonderful to do on Halloween night, here in L.A., will you please let me know? I spent last year at the Magic Castle, which proved dissapointing since all the shows were sold out and the dance floor was a bit too frisky with scary middle age magicians (the majority dressed as pirates,) and what looked to be a bunch of hookers as their dates. I was on a blind date, dressed as the St. Pauli Girl (he was Clockwork Orange Alex. Yawn.) Anyway, this year i'd rather spend it someplace haunted, like Orpheum Theatre, downtown, watching Lugosi & Karloff in The Black Cat. If you can pull that off, let me know. Back to sewing capes, hot chocolate overload and teen advice column deadlines . . .
