Today, I would like to introduce a series which I think everyone should read, if not for the angsty storyline, then for the pretty art. :D
隠の王 Nabari no Ou
In a certain way, this mangaka's art reminds me of LOVE's works, but with better character proportions and much prettier boys. I guess it's because she draws 14 year old boys like 14 year old boys and not, uhm, like 17 year olds who mis-reported their ages.
Unfortunately, I think there's only one group scanlating the series now and hurr, they seem to be preoccupied with other projects. Only 3 chapters of thr 1st volume has been scanlated, not enough to tell much about the story really, but I've been following the chinese publishers, and we're up to volume 6 now actually. (Japan is out until volume 7.)
Basically, the story revolves around the main character, Rokujou Miharu (the boy on the cover) and the role he played in the ninja world, which exists in parallel with our modern world. This shinobi world which existed since the past is called the nabari no sei, and people who belong to that world live normal lives on top of their shinobi duties. I am actually in love with the storyline and the characters, it's not shounen ai, but well, we fangirls will find a way if we can. Furthermore, the lead is really... cute. However, the series is a lot darker than I initially anticipated, and leaves a heavy feeling when one reads, so I wouldn't recommend this for light reading.
Soooo.
Note edit below cut.
Nabari no Ou is a sadly neglected series, and there is close to little information available. Even wikipedia, yes, they only have the Japanese version available and the Japanese are notorious for not using copyrighted stuff, so we don't get any pictures together with the character profiles. :\ The scanlations are also available for download on Timcanpi's site, but I don't want to kill their bandwidth in case you folks get interested.
