Pride and Prejudice

Jane Austen, 1813.

Best. Book. EVER. Well, arguably so, at least. I can read this at least twice a year and often do. Some time in the past few years it overtook Anne of Green Gables as the novel I've reread the most times.

Austen's perceptive, comedic tale of marriage and manners in Regency England is both completely of it's time and entirely timeless. Her characters are completely recognizable as personality types that one might meet in the modern world, while their way of life and worldview have long since perished.

Very funny, heartwarming and touching. Great story. Wonderful characters. Incredible book.
