I finally did it. Disneyland dressed up in its festive holiday gear. All I can say is that I probably had a grin on my face for most of the day... ha ha. Also, mixed in with a little head jitter because of the many coaster rides (riding Matterhorn+cups+thunder mountain+Indie, consecutively), plus riding Space Mountain two consecutive times because someone :coughjoshcough: goofed, no pun intended. I recommended not to do that... it messes with your head.
14 hours. That's how long I lasted in the wonderful world of Disneyland yesterday. I don't think I felt the tiredness until I actually sat down. I went in the park having an open mind, not really knowing what I really wanted to do, which was a weird feeling for me, I guess. It had been 2 years (gasp!) since I've been to the park; last year when I was homesick, this was one of the places I wanted to go to.
I'm glad I didn't have to play mother once again to Andrew, because luckily, he has a season pass and knows the in and out paths to get to places quick and perhaps, he wouldn't want to look to pathetic. ha ha.
Highlights of the day:
NEMO! Finally! It was soooo cool, the effects and just being in a submarine once again... it's been too long. :sigh:
lol of the day: When a father told his family they can go on the Elmo ride.... and then the mother corrected with a "You mean, Nemo?"
Haunted Mansion- a very different mood throughout the entire building/ride. Much more uplifting and less death. Mi piace le zucche. :)
Sleeping Beauty Castle walk through- Really cool, because I've never in the 18 years going to Disneyland, ever been in the interiors of the castle.
Pirates Island- Neat jungle gym for the kiddies. I love watching rugrats run outta control, slip on a bridge, get up and continue running like its no one's business. lol. First time on the island, strangely, and videoing my brother attempting to break dance in front of Lafitte's Tavern? Priceless.
Holiday parade- weird watching in person for the first time ever, instead of the television on Christmas. Fact: the toy soldiers actually play the trumpet.... pretty sweet, if I may say so myself. I want to wear a pretty holiday dress and waltz... wishlist numero due.
It's A Small World- I know I kind of hate on this ride, but the way they added holiday things in it (plus mixing in a christmas song in it, helped a bit) made it really cool. The lit up facade of the ride? AWESOME. And then they had this random nutcracker song performance on the facade after we rode it... no words to describe.
FANTASMIC, BIATCH.- My favorite show EVER. It was dead freezing, but it was worth it. It never gets old. Love the characters at the end on Mark Twain. I secretly want to be one of them. SHhh!!
Met up with Shawna and Jeff in the evening and rode Star Tours.... that never gets old either.
Overall, I had a lot of fun. This has been the best (and only) winter Disney Christmas ever! hee hee.
P.S. I didn't load pictures because I have no memory card loader and I'm kind of lazy right now... hopefully when I get home tomorrow (yay!!) it will get done. Sometime. ha ha.
