i just had an amazingly fun weekend. i went up with some girls from phoenix to play in a mini tournament in flagstaff. i didnt play to well in our two games against the other girls team. after that we watched the phoenix men's tea play a few games. the last game some of us girls joined the men's team and played some more. i totally rocked in that game. i scored the winning point! i even layed out once (first time ever doing that in the grass!)
after the games we went to marshall lake which is about 11 miles south of flagstaff and went camping. we found this awesome spot right next to the lake. it had ducks and geese in it, too. camping was really fun. the weather was a bit chilly, but that is much better than it being 100 degrees at 6am!
on sunday morning we went into downtown flagstaff for some coffee. we had two dogs with us, so i stood outside and watched them while the others went into the coffee house. there were so many people out walking and everyone was so nice and friendly! i swear i should be living there instead of here.
after that we went hiking at wet beaver creek which is about 3 miles off of the I-17 right near sedona. it was a 3 mile hike in to this awesome cliff jumping place. i didnt cliff dive though, but did go in the water to cool off. we hd a lil picnic then made the 3 mile trek back out. none of us brought enough water with us. we also had problems with one of the dog's feet getting too hot that it refused to move and we had to pick her up and carry her. that got kind of annoying but we made it work.
the drive back was horrible. we hit the storm and traffic was super backed up getting into phoenix. there was a huge dust storm in central phoenix. when we were on the 10 you could barely see the buildings in downtown phoenix because there was so much dust! i ended up getting back to my apt at 7:20 and i had a staff meeting at 8. i basically had time for a shower and ran out the door and barely made it on time.
we need to go camping in flagstaff more often! and we shoudl all defintely go to wet beaver creek sometime too!
