My wise friend Callie said: "you don't change. your feelings about others don't change. so we might as well come to terms with ourselves and our feelings about other people, because they're not going anywhere...which might be a good or bad thing, i haven't decided."
*I completly agree Callie. I am going to take her advice. I have come to terms with my feelings about ::him:: but I doubt he even cares. But the feelings won't go away so here I am stuck*
Now that that nonsense is out of the way....
Today was such a great day! There was a teacher requitment here at Ohio University where there were around 100 schools from all over requiting teachers to work for them next year. I was nervous because 12 out of the 26 schools in Central Ohio that I applied to here there to interview. I have never interviewed for a teaching job but I did prepare and do a mock interview with career services last week.
-I put on my suit (my very uncomfortable suit which I would NEVER wear to teach special education in) and I set out to interview. With a little stress I just took a deep beathe and realized my new philosophy: "Stop and smell the dafodils!"
-I interview with Marysville, Pickerington, Granville, Grandview, Dublin, Columbus, New Albany, Newark, Worthington, Groveport and Whitehall!!!!
I fell in love with New Albany and Newark and they both told me that they would really like to have me in for another interview and would recommend me for a position. I am very excited!!!!!!!!!!!!! The interview with Marysville went well, as did Granville, Groveport, Dublin and Columbus but there was something about the other two that really grabbed my interest!! (Much to my surprise, I do think that I did well on all the interviews but I do feel a strong interest in New Albany and Newark! I am super excited to hear from them!)
-I wish Westerville and Olentangy were at the Teacher Requitment.
-I am taking my test to get my teaching liscense tomorrow morning. I took it a couple of months ago and I didn't pass one section by 2 points (1 question!) It blows! I am trying to have a high level of confidence this time and be sure of myself. Last time I think that I went into the test thinking I was going to read everything and just look at the surface of the questions and get it, but now after getting the PRAXIS study guide I realize you kinda got to read a little deeper into the questions in order to catch small hints. So send good luck vibes my way!
-After this test tomorrow I am headed straight to Kristin's for a beer pong tournament where my roommate Ashley and I are going to kick some SPED ass! :-)
-I also am pleased to announce that my intermural softball team SPEDS (us special education block girls) have your softball team back. We play on Tuesday nights so if you want to come cheer us on please do! We didn't win last Tuesday but we fought a hard battle. 9-7. As Beth said at the end for our pep talk, "What sucks is this weather tonight but what doesn't suck is our team moral!" I love my SPED girls!
-Now I gotta see if my boy toy/boyfriend Jesse dies on Law and Order...then off to bed early!
-Sweet Dreams Everyone! (I promise to update more often next week!)
