Its hard to believe in a very short time graduation will be here. Now that CHES exam is over I'm focusing a lot more of my time on the whole job thing. I find it kind of funny that I was more stressed about the exam than I am about finding a job. The more I've thought about that I've realized there are a few reasons for this. First of all most of the whole job thing is out of my control. All I can honestly do is present myself in the best possible way... the rest is up to other people. Second of of I learned at an early age how short live is and how important it is to live for the moment. This is a huge part of who I am. I don't see the point in stressing over what is to come. Third I actually really kind of enjoy that unknown factor. It makes life more interesting. What is the point of knowing everything to come. Fourth I am a strong believer that things are going to fall together as they should. Although I am no longer entirely sure how I feel as far as God and religion, fate vs free will, and destiny I do believe in the general concept that these follow. And finally, I have always found work when I need it and it always seems to be a last minute thing that just seems to fall together.
In the past two days I have found that I may have some pretty good ins at a YMCA which has kind of been I my ideal job. I was talking with Lisa who is the CEO at the MQT Y yesterday. She asked how things were going with the internship and what not. We got to talking about jobs and what I want to do. I told her about wanting to continue my work with the Y. She told me if I find something to have Jenna call them!! Just the way she said it and made it sound was that if I do that I might have a pretty good chance at the job!!! At the house pancake breakfast this afternoon I was talking to Matty and telling him about my conversation with Lisa yesterday. He asked if I was at all interested in working camp! DUH!! I guess he has spent many years working at a Y camp in Wisconson and last year they were in need of a new camp director. He wasn't sure if they had found someone to fill the job permanently but he would call his contacts and see what he could find out for me!!
So today I decided to look at the YMCA job postings again, find a few that really interest me and talk to Jenna about them. For a lot of them I don't necessarly meet all of their qualifications. So I want to show the job descriptions to Jenna and see if she feels they are something I would be able to handle or if I would just be in over my head and a wast of time to even apply to. While I was there I found one that I REALLY REALLY LIKE!! Its the Teen Director in Richmond VA!! Right away I called Heather! I have always wanted to live out on the East Coast!
So totally stoked right now!! Off to go work on my resume so I can get it looked over by the job center and MJ and start sending it out!!
