Yoinked from ficbitch82.

Comment on this post. I will choose seven interests from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so that others can play along.

So I have to explain these seven interests:

1) Captain Tightpants
Ah Mal. Malcolm Reynolds is the captain of the Firefly-class ship Serenity. He’s got a pretty good aim, voice like molasses, and a heart of gold. A real cowboy through and through, complete with train heists, who fought for the Independents in the Unification War against the Alliance (which is where he gets the title ‘Browncoat’).
Oh did I mention this was all in space? And has crazy rabid space cannibals? And there’s different planets, and spaceships, and hookers, and priests with mad hair? No? Huh.
Well, I never got to see the short-lived but utterly amazing series Firefly when it was on telly, but got into it when my sister bought the DVD boxset and then of course saw the absolutely brilliant Serenity. It’s made by the man who brought us the ass-kicking slayer Buffy and her Scooby Gang (Joss Whedon ftw).
So, then my interest? It’s what Kaylee, the ship’s mechanic, called Mal, because boy they are some nice tight trousers…

2) Dexter
My other TV obsession, though NOWHERE in the vicinity of my One True Love, Supernatural (♥), is Dexter. Based on the books by Jeff Lindsay - very loosely based, really only the majority of the first book - and played perfectly by Michael C. Hall. Who is just the goddamn sexiest serial killer ever. With Biney coming a close second (no, I will not explain).
The series is just brilliant, so funny and unexpected, and thankfully going into its second season soon. Third book is out here soon and I CAN’T WAIT!!

3) Mullet Rock (with an added: whee!)
Well, the “whee!” is ficbitch82’s addition, which I totally second. But Mullet Rock is Dean Winchester’s auditory choice of awesome. Which I now love, and gladly bellow my lungs out to un my own Metallicar, which, unfortunately, is not a black 1967 Chevy Impala, but a red 2000 Opel Corsa. Ha! I also love the fact that bands I love have been used in the show, as I’ve always been partial to Cream, Creedence, Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd, thanks to my mum’s influence.
My best car songs from my Mullet Mix that I like to sing off key? Hot Blooded by Foreigner, and Roller by April Wine.

4) Secret Wall Tattoos
This is something I’ve found through one of my favourite groups, Queens of the Stone Age. Apparently, they leave a hidden piece of artwork or graffiti in the hotel room they stay in, and a craze has sprung from it!
Yes, it’s defacing public property, but it’s fucking awesome and it’s not actually out on display. Which is the beauty of it I think. I’d love to go to the Hyatt in November and find one in my room!
Go here to check it out, or here!

5) Griffin & Sabine
This is one of the most beautiful books I have ever seen. It’s by Nick Bantock, and he’s written a trilogy: Griffin & Sabine, Sabine's Notebook and The Golden Mean.
It is just so wonderful, it’s done through letters, drawings and postcards; you can actually take out the letters! It’s like snooping, especially since the subject matter is so personal. Go to the Amazon page to read more and see some pics.
I definitely recommend this; I love having something this beautiful. For me, it’s the literary equivalent of my next interest, which is…

6) Eternal Sunshine
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, a film with Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet. GOD Jim Carrey is mmmmmmmmmmmmm in this role. He’s so quiet, and sweet, and just so adorable; his acting is just FANTASTIC. The music is so haunting, and the story is WOW. Just, go, go watch it, NOW.
It’s one of my favourite films. I can’t even describe my love for it. It’s just so…touching.
Title comes from a beautiful Alexander Pope quote:
How happy is the blameless vestal's lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd

7) Wellies
Wellies, or Wellington boots or…gumboots(?) used to be for fishermen or farmers that liked to swill around in shit. But now they’re the coolest thing ever, heh. I wore the best pair to the Oxegen festival, and goddamn I needed them! But that was in, July? And I still haven’t cleaned them HAHAHAHAHA and now they have spiders living in them in the shed. Oops.
