Writer's Block: Untimely Passing

Dec 08, 2008 15:47

Honestly, Heath Ledger's passing affected me really hard.  I can still remember when I got the news, I was having a really good day and I was on my way home from Best Buy, when my sister called me; she said, "Heath Ledger died." And I remember going kind of silent and after a minute I was like, "Is this some twisted joke? You're kidding me, right?" and she responsed "I just heard it on the news, he was found in his appartment...blah, blah, blah..." And my next response was, in the most pathetic voice I have ever heard me giving, "Seriously?" and it was just then that I realized I had tears running down my face. Ha! I sounded like I was a little kid who's first bunny just died. It really was pathetic sounding. But in my defence, I spent 10 years obsessed with him. I was one of the few people who watched his Fox series Roar when it first aired back in 1997, and after that he was just kind of, like, a constant actor in my life. I watched everything he was in and was super estactic that he was in Dark Knight. When I finally went and saw Dark Knight and the credits began rolling, it took me by surprised again that he was gone. About 8 years ago, I put this picture up in my room (it was a promotional shot for The Patriot) and it is still there to this day. I can't bring myself to take it down now.
