I will take pictures. I'm really in love with the one-shouldered look right now. This will be really fun to do.
Thanks for the compliment on the label monogram. I'm going to put my name in small block letters under it, and under that, put "fait a main" ("made by hand in french"). What do you think? (I need to make sure that's the right way to phrase that. It's been many years since french class! LOL)
OH...BTW...have you noticed the harem pants are really in style right now? I keep seeing them in the magazines and I always think of you and your belly dancing costume! (Is that right? Or are harem pants a different thing altogether? LOL D'oh!)
Label design sounds great. I like the 'made in hand' detail too!
Harem pants are in? Wow! They might be the same, I'm not sure. Ours are really baggy. Not MC Hammer pants, but close, lol. I think tradition says that Belly Dancers wore their harem pants under a skirt, but modern dancers have gotten away from that a little. We wear them just as solo pieces too. Both ways are fun. It's always fun to layer costume pieces because you get to show off more, lol.
I like the ones that are tie-dyed, but there's no way I could pull it off. LOL It would be cute on someone about...oh, 15 years younger. LOL
Thanks about the label. I have really been wanting to do that for so long. I'd love to get into custom designs for people, or selling my things on etsy. My good friend even offered to be my rep and take my things to boutiques. LOL We'll see about that.....
LOL! I would definitely not spend that much money. Yikes! But I like yours. I WOULD wear them!
Yeah, I have been scoping out etsy. They seem a bit more friendly than ebay. I've sold stuff there and let's just say I'm not thrilled with them right now. Urgh!
No, I don't blame you, ebay seems too... businessy. I know it is a business, but it seems cold and I don't know about you, but I always get screwed over there.
Etsy seems really nice, I think crafters know how much work and time goes into a project, and we recognize the quality. I never mind spending a little more on a good product.
That's so true. I love the format of etsy and the boutiquey feel.
I sold several things on ebay and they've just changed. Instead of the "garage sale" feel it once had (remember the guy chasing the vintage lunchbox? LOL), it's corporate now. Everyone's getting screwed nowdays. With all the rules and fees, It might as well be Overstock.com. *sigh*
Oh I agree re: Ebay. Everybody just wants to make as much profit as humanly possible. When you charge $10 to ship something that ought to cost $2.50, and friends bid up the prices- it' just crazy.
Oof...yeah. I just don't care for the place. I wish someone would come up with an alternative. I do like to sell my old clothes and kids' stuff. There's just no competition.
Ditto. After I had my surgery I sold all my nice clothes at a couple different consignment shops. I didn't earn back anywhere near a decent price, but it was enough to buy a few new pieces.
I really like your label design. It's pretty, unique, and memorable- good combination.
Good luck, I can't wait to see it. You'll look fab, dahling!

I have THIS pair in black!
Etsy might be a great way to break in! Go for it, girl! I love the idea of a friend/rep pimping you out to boutiques. That would be awesome.

A few years back, I made lots of extra spending money on maternity clothes and baby things. It was so cool to get money like that.
