My aunt has lived in New Orleans for the past 20 years. We hadn't heard from her until yesterday when she called from Houston. Her house was 1 block from the 17th Street canal that was breeched the other day. They've most likely lost everything.
How awful must it be, to be over 300 miles away from home, and not having any idea when you'll be able to come back or what you'll have to come back to. It's absolutely killing me thinking about it.
