I wrote this when i was in Florida this past year- needs some work still but i thought i would post it anyways-

~Jim & J.D.~

I've got a friend his name is Jim-
and his last name is Beam-
At the end of a bad day,
He's always there for me-
When things aren't always going my way-
He simply tells me to-

Sit down with him and look out the window-
And he takes me away-
from this crazy place-
Then he says:
Look in the mirror,
What do you see?
I see a stranger looking back at me-
And I start to cry and wonder why I'm doing this to myself-
At night it's like I put my heart up on the shelf-

My other friend his name is Jack-
But to me he's J.D.-
Unlike many people I know-
he's always there for me to turn to-
When times are hard,
and I'm not sure what to do-
I simply look to him hoping to find a clue,
And all he tells me to do-

And let my cares drift away-

He says to me-

Well it's 12am and I'm by myself-
Reaching for my heart on the shelf-
I start to cry because I'm realizing why-
Hanging with Jim and Jack,
All I want is my life back-
And on track-
Cause all I'm doing is covering up my pain-
That's pouring throughout my veins-

Well now I can clearly see,
sitting here with my new friend Pepsi-
He tells me to look in the mirror-
What do you see?
I finally see......
I finally see me..
