Tuesday was my nursing school pinning ceremony and graduation. I didn't go to graduation (instead my family went out for a very nice dinner in Old Town Alexandria), but did attend my pinning which was really nice. It's a very ceremonious tradition in celebrating the transition from student nurse to graduate nurse. The instructors pin your nursing pin on you as a symbol of welcoming you into the profession as a colleague.
This is Mrs. McIntosh (my psych clinical instructor) pinning me.
Here's a photo after the pinning with Lavin and the rest of my family that was in attendance (see my pin!).
Also, for anyone that's interested, a
slide show was created of our nursing class which was played during our pinning ceremony. I'm in quite a few photos, apparently!
It's great to be done but also sad because I've made some good friends along the way. I can't wait to see if Lavin gets any leads while he's in Atlanta this week for job interviews. I want to get started on my new life and get situated in a city where I'll be staying for a while. Wish us luck!!
