Family update.
Sorry for long time with no posts. We have all had what our Doctor called Summer colds, despite the fact that Summer seems to have escaped London and gone away someplace.
Anyhow, Dan is busy out someplace far off called Rickmansworth. Harry is learning to drive. Anna-Louise has gone camping with the family of her boyfriend, Hywell. She took her Trumpet and Violin with her. The other campers are, I'm sure, loving being wakened up early with Trumpet playing. So far we've had one text saying they arrived safely. That was last Saturday.
Rhys is fine and I can't recall if I said he had a Superhero Party for his birthday in June. That is, everyone had to dress as a Superhero. Rhys was Spider-Man. There was problem with Octavia who is fast becoming the most stubborn human in the known World. She insisted on being a Fairy. Rhys explaining to her very patiently that a Fairy wasn't a Superhero made no difference. The final result was, she went as a Fairy. Anyhow, a very funny incident happened as a result of this. One of the kids at the party was dressed, for reasons we never discovered, as the Devil. He was all in red, with horns. Octavia asked him who he was and he said he was a fiend. Then he asked who she was and she touched him with her wand and said "I'm a magic Fairy, die fiend." The fiend dutifully fell to the floor groaning and died. It was hilarious.
BJ is totally returned to normal now. He's still scraping away at the Violin but can, at any rate, now produce the occasional tune. He's very persistent. That's BJ. He's determined.
The Trips are well and very lively. Them plus Octavia form a small quad gang. They play together and argue a lot. The boys are fairly amenable but Aimee-Rose and Octavia are both bossy and stubborn and want to be in charge. At the moment, Aimee-Rose usually wins because she's older. How long that will last we don't know.
Hard to believe that Krista and Klara will be 3 in December, time goes so fast. They have my lack of nose, the Sierakowiak ears and masses of mostly uncontrollable red curls. We have their hair cut short as it's easier to manage.
Peter was one on the 28th last month. He now has blond curls. Not a lot of them yet. Everyone keeps saying he looks just like a mini me, poor little thing. Seriously though, he's gorgeous and the most even tempered baby in the Universe. Everyone loves him and he smiles constantly. He's a happy little thing. He sleeps all night and is no bother at all in the morning. He just stands up in his crib and makes crowing noises. He's happy when he wakes up. Perhaps he has good dreams.
We had my niece Mair and family here last week. Thomas will be 3 on the 21st and Alice is now 17 months old. My great niece and nephew, how old that makes me feel. Thomas had great fun with the Trips and Octavia. It was chaos actually.
We had another Barbecue. The theme was WW1 and everyone was asked to come dressed appropriately. There were a lot of Soldiers around that evening, some Nurses and various females looking very pretty. Anyhow, the turns had to be suitable for the theme so we had some community singing of things like It's a long way to Tipperary. We had a group consisting of Harry on Guitar, Rhys and Anna-Louise on Violin, and a number of other people banging things like sticks and cooking pots to accompany us. The noise was tremendous but we invited all our neighbors so there were no complaints. Even Mrs C from down the road, who is 93 and has sometimes called and said we were making too much noise, came. At the end of the evening we all did our usual and one of Harry's shoes disappeared. We still haven't found where it went.
My younger brother Georg is coming next week for two weeks, along with Helga and Henrietta, who is now 6. Haven't seen them for ages. It will be fantastic to see them again.
Anyhow, will try to update more frequently from now on. Have to get breakfast. It's dry today but not very warm and cloudy. We're going to the local park later to feed the ducks and let the kids run riot in the playground. Hope it doesn't rain again. Off now, good day to all.
