5 weeks and counting....

I had my baby shower this weekend, which was so much fun! My mom and sisters made all kinds of yummy treats, and we played this silly game where you have to pile cotton balls on top of your head, and whoever gets the most wins. Sounds kind of simple, but it was hilarious. You can't feel the cotton balls, so hence, you look like a complete fool when you keep putting an empty spoon on top of your head, accompanied by shouts of encouragement from onlookers. I forgot to take many pictures, so I only have a couple, and they are rather cruddy. Here is my cute mom trying to stack up what she thinks is a tower of cotton balls :)

If you peer into the background, you can see the cutest diaper cake that my sister Sally made. It is the sweetest thing, made of diapers, with 3 tiers covered with all kinds of little goodies for baby. Really clever.
Here is the scary state of the nursery, piled high with clothes and gifts. There is so much to do in there still. Only 5 weeks left. I better get busy. Today I am going to work on curtains and paint our changing table that we got for a steal. We painted the trim this lovely pale, pale green, and then on Sunday, we found a crib that is the exact same color. It looks crappy now, but when all is said and done, art is on the walls (I got some really great prints from artists on etsy!), accessories, curtains are around, etc, it will be really sweet. I have all of these little things to place around, and on knick-knack shelves.

I spent far too long covering this lampshade in yo-yos last week.

My beloved Peter Rabbit from when I was little. I love his little velvet jacket and leather slippers! The curtains for the room are going to be the polka-dot fabric sitting next to Peter.

I got a great pinky/greeny/bluey striped rug by Dash & Albert So nice. And for a 6 x 9, it was pretty cheap!I will definitely post pics when it is all done! It won't stay this messy, I swear!
