We had such a nice weekend. We were supposed to have a couple of friends over on Saturday for a small dinner get together, and as it turns out, they had planned a surprise party for us in honor of our little bun. I was totally oblivious as mounds of potatoes were being cut, and at the giant tray of artichoke dip for 5 of us. I was completely baffled when a slew of cars pulled into our driveway. I just figured Jay had invited tons more people and neglected to tell me. All I could say was; "thank god I cleaned the house!" So, that was rather pleasant! Thanks guys! I got my first bit of baby gifts. So cute and soft; I can't wait for more, mwah mwah mwah! I am embarking on a whole new realm of material lust. There are so many cute things out there!! And a new baby shop just opened down the street, so once I find out the sex, I am going to have a hard time containing myself.
What else. I am couch bound in the evenings, dizzy and nauseous, so I've been reading and watching movies like crazy. Some classics I've been meaning to read for awhile. The Moonstone & The Woman in White, by Wilkie Collins. I could barely put either down. Lady Audley's Secret, by Mary Elizabeth Braddon. The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte. I am having a hard time reading non-classics, since I've been all wrapped up in these. Who has a good modern recommendation, although I fear I need it to be steeped in history, or at least set in an English manor of some sort.
Movies, I watched Elizabethtown and did not like it at all! It left me feeling really empty and depressed. It got so much publicity, and I just was not pleased at all. Blah. I watched Proof yesterday, and that was a bummer as well, although a much more pleasant and fulfilling bummer, which was sort of meant to be a bummer. That sort of bummer I like. I can't think of any others right now. I can't wait for Pride & Prejudice, although Keira Knightley seems to have the same expression on her face throughout the whole thing. I'll still ike it, I'm sure.
My website is coming along. I gave in and decided to go for cute and whimsical, and not sleek and prefessionsl. I cannot do sleek and professional, and anyway, it seems rather drab. So needless to say, it won't be that different from my old site. Same sort of look, just a few changes. I just need to get the ball rolling and stop dilly-dallying! I'm sure there are scores of people desperate for the return! (Ha!!)
A rather boring, entry, without any pictures. Sorry for that.
