Sophia and I made it to Missouri and back. The trip was nice.
The Highlights:
- Shawn's mom and I traveled nicely together. We have a really close relationship, closer than my own mom and me, but I wasn't sure how it would be spending a full week together. I was really happy she was there and so was Sophia.
- Sophia started teething badly shortly after we got there and was completely overwhelmed with meeting so many (15+) new people at one time. Most people were understanding and patient with her, key word most...
- It was wonderful watching Shawn's brother bond with Sophia. In almost 10 years I've never seen him smile the way he does when her looks at her.
- I had the best time getting to know my future sister-in-law. Before they moved last year there had been a bunch of drama between Shawn & Jason, so it was hard for Marisa and I to get to know one another, so getting to spend a week doing just that was nice. We actually have a lot in common.
