This is a good question. I think that it was important to take the opportunity presented to us. We were very un-acknowledged in the greek community and I think we have gained at least a little respect in that matter with doing lamba chi volleyball pike's peek week, having a sister sorority, etc. With regards to Greek Week-I do not think it was a good idea at all. We missed the first few meetings where the banner theme was announced, for event's day we had to have our own pennies for the penny toss and we didn't know. I think that really makes us look like we don't have it together. It is very disappointing to show up to an event and there be hardly any other girls there than the ones competing. Half our girls don't show up for mandatory events and then we take this on? It was a learning experience, but we could have gone to all these events and gotten a bird's eye view of how things worked without spending $400 dollars our of our pocket. I don't think that it made any sense for us to do this. The step show, that was great to get our name our there and some of the frats/sororities were all talking like they heard we were going to be in spring sing. Some excited, some scared, so that's definitely good for us. I think it is very important that greek stuff come second to our actual service. We may be greek, but we're still a service sorority and that needs to be number 1. We're here for helping others and I really hope we continue to maintain that. It would be a real shame, in my opinion, if we got caught up in all the greek stuff and neglected our principles.
Ya know, I agree about Greek Week. I thought it was a waste of time, time that either we didn't have or that could have been better spent. I joined for service, not so I could compete with sororities that have principles and do things I don't approve of. I don't think we'll ever fit in, and I also don't think we should try. I really hope we don't do it next year. Just had a thought, probably shouldn't be talking about this on here. So I'm done. :)
