Lovitt 2015
One fox, one bear, 6 kids, 15 motorcycles, 1,030 miles, zero mechanical failures. Huzzah! I've ridden out to 5 Lovitt adventures, and this is the first time it's been flawless. Hot as hell? Absolutely. We topped 114* in the Methow Valley. Riding into Colville at 5 PM the thermometer read 104*, which at the time felt manageable, and I remember thinking, 'How are we even DOING this?' Come to think of it, there weren't any physical breakdowns either, which has been more of a concern for Iko and I this year. Mental breakdowns-- well, you can't win 'em all, but at least it wasn't me crying. I carried the mantle of arbiter instead.
