The Looking Glass- 1.30.08

I got a shirt from Zero Thousand because I think their stuff is neat. It's black and green and it fits me well. It says "Fear my robot army," and has a row of little green robot guys on the advance on it. I was wearing it this weekend, and though I like the shirt I had some misgivings about it.
"I don't know," I muse, looking at the shirt on me, "I don't think anyone's going to believe I have a robot army, Iko." I don't think I'm the robot army type, I guess.
"So what?" he asks, without a pause. "Even if they think you might not have a robot army, a shirt like that is going to make them think, 'what if,' you know?"
I start to laugh.
"'What if? What if she does have a robot army? Hell, what if she has a robot?'"
I must concede he has a point there.

What if, indeed. What if we could look beyond what we think we are and simply wear something interesting that looks good on us? Or something that flatters our mind instead? And what will you discover while you try on something out of your comfort zone for a while?

Perhaps this Looking Glass is more anecdotal than objective. If this is so then it is because at present I am not sure what I see when I look in the mirror right now. I mean, what if? What if I had a robot army?

The Looking Glass is a weekly update written in a journalistic style, hopefully drawn with a more objective hand than my day-to-day blogtastic ramblings. Why? Why the hell not? Whose blog is this, anyway? As always, your feedback is appreciated- jlb
