Connor and Faith: First meeting

A New World
They run from me. The demons of this world no longer challenge me to fight. As soon as my presence is detected, they flee from me, running away to escape death by my blade. I know that I am growing closer to discovering a way out of this dimension. My father...he didn't survive Quor'toth. Despite my best efforts to protect him, to shield him from the danger of this world, I could not stop Father from dying. Father said it was the harshness of this environment, the air that he was forced to breath damaged his lungs. No matter how hard I tried, I could not find a way to bring Father home before he left me. My only comfort is that he has now joined Caroline and his infant son in heaven. I wish...hope even, that Sarah is there too. That Angeles was not able to damn her to eternal torment in hell because Father found her and released her from the prison of the demon who wore her face in time.

Father made me vow to continue searching for a way out. To find my way to the dimension we originally came from and to hunt down Angeles upon my arrival. Angeles would suffer for the crimes against Father and his family, crimes against the world, and I would be the one to deliver justice. They call me Destroyer in this world. It is because no demon has survived my justice, and no demon in the other world shall either.

Father taught me how to survive. He taught me the lessons I need to defeat evil. The tools I need to fight the evil that lives inside me as well. I have been taught to cling to the good and lay waste to the evil.

High pitched screams of the slugs fill the air. The demons rush to avoid my blade. They are leading me to the opening I have been searching for. The gateway to the other dimension. The path that will lead me to Angelus.

It is time.

The blade from my weapon makes contact with the dark area that the water slugs run too. Wind whips against my face as the blade tears into the surface, ripping through it as if the lining between the dimensions was thin like the animal skins I wear. The gateway has been opened. I hurl myself through, unwilling to risk it closing on me. For too many years I have searched for this escape. I will not fail my mission now that I have discovered the way out. The way home.

I land in a crouch, blinking at the harsh light and bright room that surrounds me. Sniffing the air, my gaze falls upon the only person, or demon, who is in the abode. A girl. Perhaps she will be the one to lead me to Angelus.

Faith: Lindsey was such a pussy. After the big show he put on at the prison he was too much of a wuss to go into the hotel with me? Dude was whack for real. So now I had to go in on my own, find Soul Boy and figure out why the hell I'd been sprung in the first place. Cause come on now, it was a valid question.

My boots echoed in the empty lobby as they hit the unyielding floor beneath it. "Hello?" I called out, my eyes darting around the huge ass room. Damn, Angel got himself some nice digs now. Good on him. I mean he told me about the hotel when he came to visit but he never told me how fuckin' big it was.

I frowned, realizing I was alone. Was about to poke around a little bit more when a bright light blinded me for a second. Takin' a step back I heard a large rip and then some...kid landed on the floor. Holy crap! Where the hell had he come from? "Who the fuck are you?" I demanded, immediately falling into a defensive stance. Was he some kinda weird randomly appearing demon who looked like a kid?

Connor: The girl took the stance of a warrior. Her body positioned to engage me at any moment. Perhaps she was one of Angelus's minions. I listened carefully and found the sound of her heart beat. Not a vampire.

"Are you a demon?" I asked, ignoring her question.

I circled her slowly, hand on my weapon, ready too lunge at her should she engage me. Sniffing the air, I tried to seek out her scent and separate it from the others still lingering in this abode. It appeared we were alone, but appearances could be deceiving.

If she was a demon? I'd never encountered anything such as her in Quor'toth. Perhaps Angelus uses her beauty to trap unsuspecting victims.
Faith: I snorted when he asked me if I was a demon. "Funny, you askin' me that." I said in a dark voice, my eyes following him carefully. I was a little rusty, but my muscles were all tense and ready to go if Junior here decided he wanted a little taste of slayer.

"Don't even think about it, kid." I said to him, still following him with my eyes as his hand went to some kinda weapon. Damn, what the hell was he? This was wicked unfair, I was all rusty and out of practice and he had a weapon.

"Besides, I asked first." He circled around him and I followed so that I wouldn't have my back to him. Had he done something to Angel? I swear I'd fucking kill him, I'd find a way if he had. "What are you?"
Connor:Her eyes locked with mine for a brief moment. Dark eyes that narrowed when she spoke to me. Her gaze lingered to my weapon. She was unarmed. It wouldn't be a fair fight, but that was her mistake for not securing a weapon. One should never be caught unarmed. That was a lesson my father taught me.

"Don't even think about it, kid."

I tilted my head slightly, studying her body, while I listened to her speak. "Think about what?" I asked, taking one step toward her.

"What are you?"

"I don't know." I admitted. What was I? The child of two vampires. An abomination. "Where is Angelus?"

The lights from the abode were bright. I had to adjust my vision quickly or she would have the advantage, unarmed or not. My body tensed as I waited for her answer. Perhaps he was in the shadows, lurking and waiting to reveal himself. Would he remember me?
Faith:I held my ground as he took a step closer to me. Couldn't back down now, who the hell even knew what he was. Apparently he didnt' even know. Oh that was just great. I walk into the hotel just in time to get into it with some crazy dimension ripper kid with weapons who was lookin' for....Angelus? What? He had beef with Angel? Or had Angel and B....knocked boots again. Did Angel lose his soul?

Suddenly I was startin' to feel played. By one annoying and evil lawyer. Shoulda known better than to trust that bitch. I really was gonna kill Lindsey when I got outta here. If I gotta out here.

"Angelus?" I asked confused, tilting my head to the side and giving the kid a cautious look. "You came here lookin' for Angelus, not Angel?" His hand kept inching towards his weapon and it was annoying me.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw a sword leaning up against the cabinet nearby. I quickly moved my gaze back to the little punk in front of me. And damn, I thought the clothes they gave you in prison were bad. He was wearin' like a dead bear or something.
Connor:She knew of Angelus, but called him Angel. Father warned me of the foolish humans in this dimension who believed that the monster had changed because he had a soul. No soul could redeem the vampire who murdered my father's family and turned my sister into a demon. No soul could bring back the lives that were lost at Angelus's hand.

"Angelus, Angel, vampire, monster." I replied. "Names are meaningless, he is a demon and he will die for his crimes against humanity."

She looked at something across the room and I followed her gaze. A sword. Perhaps she would attempt to go for the weapon. It would be a smart move if she wished to engage me.

"What are you? A demon? His minion?" I asked.

Faith I snorted again when he asked me if I was Angel's minion. I wasn't anyone's damn minion! Ask any of the chicks on cellblock 6. I had bitches, never was anyone's bitch. I was my own chick, even if I did only have loyalties to Angel. And those loyalties were so fuckin' strong nothin' was gonna break 'em. Definitely not some little punk that wore animal skins for fun.

I watched him carefully, he was good. He didn't move his intense gaze from me, studying me the way I studied him. Droppin' my guard for a split second I looked behind him and widened my eyes. Punk. That was all it took. He looked confused for a second at what I was lookin' at and I jumped on the chance.

Leaping towards the sword I grabbed it in my hand and spun around, letting the point rest against the kid's throat. Just a little bit of elbow grease and I could run him clean through with the blade.

"Names are meaningless huh? Try this one on for size. Vampire slayer." I raised an eyebrow at him, daring him to make a move as a wicked smirk graced pale features. Oh yeah, it was good to be back.
Connor:She tricked me. I allowed myself to be distracted by her beauty and that gave her the opportunity to lunge for the sword. I'd never encountered anyone who could move like me before. Perhaps she moved even faster than me, because it only took a second before she cornered me with the weapon.

"Impressive."

She arched an eyebrow at me. "Names are meaningless huh? Try this one on for size. Vampire slayer."

Vampire slayer. Father spoke of them in Quor'toth. "Slayer. Chosen to kill the vampires and demons of the world." I smiled slowly at her. "Then you are here to slay Angelus too?"

The tip of the blade pressed against my neck. She was challenging me, silently, to make a move against her. I have never backed down from a challenge before. Lashing out quickly, I kicked at her, flipped backwards and settled into a crouch. The next move would be hers.
Faith:"Ding Ding. Get the boy a cookie." My smirk grew more wicked as the point of the sword dug it's way into his throat just a little bit more.

I frowned when he mentioned me takin' out Angel. "Slow down, punk. I didn't say anything about that."

Fuck me with a rusty chainsaw. Here I was lettin' my own ass get distracted and suddenly there was a foot in my gut knocking me backwards. The sword clattered to the ground as the kid did a wicked impressive backflip and landed on the couch.

"Damn..." I said standing up and tilting my head to the side, workin' out the kinks in my neck. "Not bad." What was he? Some kinda boy slayer?

Grabbing the sword in my hand I lunged at him, swiping it at his head only to have him duck out of the way quickly. "What are you? Like a boy slayer?"
Connor:"Slow down, punk. I didn't say anything about that."

I frowned at her. If she was a vampire slayer, why else would she be here but to slay Angelus? "It is your duty, yes? You have been chosen to kill demons and he is a demon. It does not matter; I will kill him. It is my mission."

I rested on the balls of my feet, crouched down and ready to spring forward if she should engage me again. The sword was in easy reach and I would not prevent her from retrieving her weapon.

As if anticipating my thoughts, she grabbed the sword and lunged at me, causing me to duck from her blow.

"What are you? Like a boy slayer?"

"I do not know what I am." I whispered, annoyed that she persisted with asking the question again. "The child of two vampires. I am not supposed to exist."

Faith:"Sorry. Can't let you do that." Was this kid thick? I was a vampire slayer sure, but Angel had a soul. He was all heroic and shit, and that seemed way more important than any sacred duty bullshit I was supposed to do. Sacred my ass, I'd leave the duty to Buffy.

I launched another attack on him only to have him evade it and attack me in return. Ducking out of the way, I narrowed my eyes when he told me what he was.

Freezing for a second I knew I was lettin' my guard down. "What? Are you for real?" This kid was trippin'. Vamps couldn't have babies.

He kicked the sword out of my hand and I watched it go skittering across the lobby floor. With a shrug I reached back and arm and punched him hard across the face. Frowning his skin was warm to the touch. Not a vamp....than what?
Connor: She hit me. I grinned at her as my lip split open. I could feel the blood dripping slowly from the cut. She was an intriguing adversary, more fun than the shaolian demons I hunted in Quor'toth.

I swung at her, only to have her dodge the blow with her arm. We continued to throw punches, dodging most of them, but a few made contact. There was something about the feel of her hands against my skin.

I liked it.

"Yes, I am real. You are fighting me, no?" I asked, just as she kicked the weapon from my hand. I listened at it hit the floor with a loud thud. I'd carved that blade by hand. It would not break easily. "You will not prevent me from my mission. Angelus killed my father's family."

I slammed her against the nearest wall, our faces only inches apart. She was beautiful. The most beautiful creature I'd ever seen. "Angelus and Darla created me, but I will not follow their path of evil. I will cling..."

She slammed me into a wall before I could finish my sentence. I couldn't help but smile. "You distract me with your beauty. I'll grow accustomed too it soon enough."
