Drive Careful
I just wanted to make a quick post to tell everyone out there in snow country to be extremely careful on the roads. A friend of my family was driving her 2 year old son to daycare this morning and she lost control of her car, and crossed the center line, into on-coming traffic. Her little boy, Maxwell, was killed instantly, and she was taken to the hospital with a broken pelvis. Maxwell was sitting in the center of the backseat of her car, properly buckled into his car seat, but even that wasn't enough to keep him safe during the accident. It's been a rough night for me, thinking about her and her family. I wish there was something more I could do to help. I didn't know them that well, but I still feel connected to them. It's gotta be absolute Hell, losing a child. Please, everyone, be careful on the roads this winter. And, please, buckle up. No matter what the weather's doing. My prayers go out to anyone who's lost anyone in an accident...and to anyone who's lost anyone period.
