Happy New Year! Hope everyone has a great 2008 :)
I spent my new year confirming what I had previously half known: my three greatest fears are spiders, random axe murderers and domestic fireworks, and not necessarily in that order.
I refer back to my post from this same time last year when I discovered the wonderful atmosphere on new year's eve when one is surrounded by Danes of all ages setting off weapons of minor destruction. So after a lovely four and a half course dinner at Kenneth's neighbours' house I retreated back to Kenneth's to watch tv semi-peacefully, until Kenneth suggested we go outside to watch all the fireworks right after midnight. I was okay for a minute or so, but then it got really intense and the damn things were going off very suddenly and all around me, and I ended up back inside as a weeping, teeth chattering, hyperventilating creature wrapped in a blanket on the couch...
My one triumph of the evening was that while watching the Queen Margrethe II of Denmark's new year address, I managed to decipher what general subject she was talking about. The general gist of the speech was "Hi, be good to the environment, be nice to immigrants, respect the soldiers, be thankful for what you've got, a big shout out to the Farrow Islands and Greenland, and isn't my family great, happy new year". So being a little bored while the old girl was filling in the gaps, I was staring at her and trying to figure out who she reminds me of...

New Year's Resolutions 2008
1. Show up to my Uni thingermagiggers. EVEN the 9am lectures...
2. Two course maximum at mealtimes.
3. Pay off half my car loan.
4. Move out before I turn 21.
5. Get a kitty (preferably gray or ginger) and call him Hamish.
Oh, oh and I got snowed on today, hurrah! *does the snow dance*
It all kind of melted when it hit the ground, but it was too slow to be rain, so it still counts. Hopefully more blizzardy action is coming my way within the next few days :D!
