Productiveness!

You know what I need? I need a specific day when I'll talk about what's upcoming. (Also, I can do it at any other time, but then I'll remember to do it.) That will be the first Friday of every month, if I remember. >.> So, come back next week to see what's what. ;)

Anyway, today has been a rather disappointing day. I woke up so tired from the last two days (a total 18 hours of dog training, one of those being a 10 hour day with no breaks, and several extremely difficult cases) that even my brain, which normal kicks into writing mode and is what gets me out of bed, went, "What? Writing? Have you LOST YOUR MIND?"

I then finished my taxes and learned that, due to wonky self-employment laws, it doesn't matter that my income has increased by $20,000 each year for the last three years (wow, that makes it sound like I make more money than I do. Keep in mind the first year I moved locations and started a business...), I still don't make enough money to buy a house. Or rather, I did last year, and I will this year, but since I didn't the year before it doesn't matter. (I'm looking into options, but let's just say they aren't looking hopeful.) Then I had a rather depressing conversation with my beau that went something like this:

Quin: I'm not seeing much for rent in housing... I mean, you could rent a house down there in San Jose, but there are apartments here in Concord! :D
Me: No, then I'd be likely to stay in San Jose. I don't think I can deal with an apartment and my dogs and boarding dogs.
Quin: ...oh. But... you did that for years.
Me: Yeah, but having had a yard now, I get really stressed when there isn't one and I have to deal with dogs.
Quin: Yeah, I guess I understand that. :( *gets off the phone fairly quickly*

So then I felt like a dick.

Also, it's 1pm, I haven't done any kind of healthy exercises, and I'm still in my PJs. Normally this wouldn't bother me because I'm writing, but since I have yet to even look at my word doc, it bothers me today.

So! Here is my list of things I HAVE gotten done, so I feel slightly less crummy and unproductive:

1. I finished my taxes. (Which took HOURS.) Or they would be finished, except that now that I don't qualify for a house, I'm going to add in a bunch of deductions I hadn't added in. (Part of the self employment deal.) So, they're almost done. Yay!

2. I wrote up my plot for the fantasy novel on a poster board and put it in the place of residence. I also scrawled down my ideas for upcoming novels on newsprint and put them just under the place of residence, so that I can keep them in mind.

3. I looked for rentals, emailed my realtor, talked to my folks, thought about some other house buying options.

4. I did my bills.

5. I cleaned out the dish rack.

6. I wrote this post! Woot woot!

Iiiiiii should probably get to editing Dragon Bound, which is due on Saturday. >.> *coughscoughs*
