Inception-specific thematic list: Mal-was-right

I've been thinking about an Inception-specific thematic list for a while. There are common themes in Inception fics that, like any other fandom-specific themes, are unique to the fandom (excepting fusions & crossovers).

To kick off my Inception thematic lists, the 'Mal was right' trope. Basically, Mal was correct in believing that the events of

Ooh, those are all really good ideas, I hadn't though of doing a list for that last one!

I definitely want to make a list of fics that deal with:
*limbo
*projections
*forging
*mindheists (stories where they have an extraction job)
*military backstory fics
*totems
*(maybe) subconscious security
*(maybe) kicks

I've even been trying to track fics that specifically reference Edith Piaf's Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien; so maybe one about that, too.

I'd been wanting to do a master-list, but then realized doing it in bite-sized bits was a better idea.

Oh, and I totally forgot, stories about characters incepting other characters...I mean, how uniquely Inception-y is that!?!

Let me know if I've missed any stories that you've read for the Mal-was-right theme...I tried to be comprehensive, but I do tend to mostly read Arthur/Eames and poke around certain comms for fics.

Nice! First glance says I've read a few of these, but most of them are new to me! I've been craving more 'Mal was right' fic. Will definitely be going through this later tonight :D

This is so cool that you're doing this. I actually haven't read any of these and hadn't seen any fics that follow this theme, which is funny because my friend said that's what she believed was going on when we left the theater after the film. I just chuckled to myself because I thought she was nuts. Sorry, that was a bit random. Point is, thanks for posting these! Can't wait to see what else you come up with in terms of Inception fic themes :)

This was definitely the easiest list for me to compile, since it's such a specific theme and not that many stories have been written with it (that I've found). :D

I have lots of ideas for other lists. *rubs hands together in anticipatory glee*
