Christmas and New Year

Jan 03, 2010 08:11

Well this year was very different but very nice at the same time, I spent from christmas eve till monday in newcastle with sean's family which was very quiet just five of us, when I'm use to a minimum of fifteen. I met the last of his family to meet which was nice and his new 2 week old cousin who was very cute, I had to fight to hold her as I think Sean was terrified of me getting broody and jumping on him there and then in his aunties kitchen, which I didn't I think he needs a little faith in me sometimes. Christmas dinner was lovely I have never had beef wellington but I found it very nice and will be attempting it myself one day. We also hit the sales early whilst we were up there taking full advantage of being in a hotel in town, still wouldn't do it again though waking up christmas morning in a hotel sucked big time, but the rest of the time it was nice. I was exhausted after all the driving and not sleeping well and then had to go back to work.

Then new year which is a bit of a conundrum every year it is my mums birthday on new years eve so I have to see her and she always gets very down as everyone else is celebrating new year and not her birthday like they would be if it were any other time of the year. So we went and spent new years eve at my mums which was nice watching my mum try to use the wii and managing to bruise seans arm with the controller. My dad decided as well that he couldn't have everyone else setting off fireworks and not him so he went to the garage to find the decade old fireworks bought off the car boot, that was amusing.

But now we are home after a relaxing stay at my mums I am now faced with a new year and few resolutions.

1. new job
2. save harder than ever before
3. pay off all debt
4. better myself find a hobby or something to keep my mind active
5. help more around the house every night I come home and make a mess and due to my work being so tiring I never help poor sean so I am determined to reverse that one.

Well thats it I am very glad to see the back of 2009 and say hello to 2010 I hope its a good and prosperous year for all.
