decmeber 3rd I was in detroit. It was super fun Becky and I went to the ray lamontagne concert. Tristan Prettyman opened.

We got there and after I was forced to back in (parking isn't my strong point, especially under pressure) and we chatted it up with some really out of place older (65+) black women. They had won the tickets and looked to us as to who "this ray is". We chatted it was worth the trip itself. That is probably my favorite part about concerts, talking to random people. You always end up talking to like 10 people that your standing by, the only thing you have in common is that you like who's playing.

Tristan played, she was pretty good. There was a lack of upbeat songs but she managed to throw a few in there.

after her set we went and bought some things. I got the chance to have tristan sign my EP. She was really friendly and we talked anout Ani. Ani might produce her next record. that's exciting to hear.

Then We went back to our seats and ray played. He was amazing. He was verrrry quiet. maybe said 10 words besides introducing his band. We went up to the stage where my ear was convienianlty next to teh lod speaker. we got kicked back to our seats a few times by a very very short man who was trying really hard to maintain crowd control but couldn't. Before everyone went down some people were dancing (i'm like the term 'lamontaying') it was cute.

well break is this week. unlike everyone else i have no finals. I'm basically done christmas shopping. I'm looking forward to:

hanging out with everyone
sledding
making christmas cookies
screwing up my sleep schedual

Gosh I love music. Along with some great mixes with totally new artists, I got my hands on some rachel cantu and some lisa hannigan stuff. Any suggestion????

wow.
