Tonight I went and saw the movie "Who Gets to Call it Art?" at the Bijou. It was great, and an inspiration to me. It was all about this guy named Henry Geldzahler, who was a curator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. This guy was amazing. He basically made the careers of Warhol, Stella, and a bunch of other artists. Everyone in the New York art scene of the 50-70s knew him. He was involved with art and actively participated in it, instead of just sitting behind a desk. He made me want to go into contemporary art. And this guy's eye was fantastic. He was so confident and just...knew. What he thought, what was good, what was bad. He was amazing.
